NFTE Philadelphia is looking to to support year-long classes at four schools with a NFTE-certified teacher. Students will receive textbooks on entrepreneurship education and career building.
As NFTE Philadelphia looks to expand its reach to four new classrooms of twenty-five students each, new student materials are also needed. These funds will help purchase white form display boards, printing materials for business plans, and copies of "Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future" and "Exploring Careers for the 21st Century" for each participant. Students will learn about competitive advantage, ownership, marketing, finance, and product development.
Skills gained in the classroom with award winning materials will be invaluable to students as they visualize their future as entrepreneurs. NFTE students must prepare and present their own viable business plan, which helps them see the value of subjects such as math, writing, reading, and research in their lives, and encourages them to stay in school.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with almost 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
