Muwakhat Foundation’s team is working on project “to help homeless women and children” since July 2016. The ultimate purpose is to provide basic needs of life i.e food, health, education, clothes and generate income through alternative source of income.
Long Term Impact:
It helps to reduce long term vulnerability and live respectable life as citizen of Pakistan
Memorable Moments for children
This was the 4th distribution of new clothes to children and all community people knew that this activity is mostly funded by donors of GlobalGiving. So all kids did thanks to GlobalGiving by shaking hand and say “thank you”
PROCESS OF DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTHES
Family registered through a household survey conducted by Muwakhat Foundation Team. 250 families are plan to registered and till today 86 homeless families registered. Result
# of homeless families registered: 32
# of household members: 242
# of women: 58 (Above age 18 years)
# of Children: 176 (Age from 0 months till 14 years)
This Eid one week before, Muwakhat Foundation invited children with their mothers. All came on time and they were excited especially girls’ age from 4 years to 7 years for receiving new clothes for Eid.
Due to Fasting months dry ration and new clothes given to registered families.
FUNDING SOURCES
This Eid International Lion Royal Club Lahore and Leo Club Lahore signed MOU for support to the project of “help to homeless women and children” with donors of GlobalGiving.
We raised funds within 35 days for this micro project with the support of donors at GlobalGiving and this gives us great motivation to work on the project.
Way Forward:
Our Next step for children to develop “ Child Rehabilitation and Preschool center” for children where awareness provide on future, focus on alleviate their bad habits and prepare them for regular school. All they learned through fun activities.
We request to support for developing “Child Rehabilitation and Preschool Center” to help see dreams, overcome malnourished and go to regular school.
