This project will provide medicinal support for two months to 300 sickle cell anemia patients, providing them free medicines, warm clothes,nutrition supplements and emergency care facilities.Team of doctors and technicians will provide free services to tribal population of 4500 people with screening for sickle cell,diagnosis tests and clinical help.Transportation to higher clinical facility will be provided along with additional therapies free of cost in case of sickle cell crisis.
People will be direct beneficiaries considering regular feild visits by Maharashtra Arogya Mandal at this new center extending our reach by 500 kilometers.
we need sustainable support to carry our regular site visits by doctors and paramedics to provide tribal people medicines, warm clothes and nutrition supplements.With this sum of donations we can cover major patient base who are lacking in basic services of healthy food, warm clothes and medicines during our visits in coming winter season.
MAM has screened more than 200,000 tribal for sickle cell. Approx 1.5 % of the tribal people are suffering from this incurable disease, and 22.5% tribal are carrier for the gene in this area.At present we organize regular health camps, provide medical kits, the center is carrying out research on sickle cell due to which there is improvement in anemic condition, intensity of crisis is decreased & also duration & recurrence of the crisis is prolonged. Aim is to provide food supplements & medicine.
