March 13 Bonus Day

Alima Ouedraogo, midwifery student
Alima Ouedraogo, midwifery student

Wednesday, March 13, is GlobalGiving Bonus Day.   GlobalGiving will match all donations by 30% up to a maximum of $1000 per donor per project.   Only online donations (credit card or PayPal) are eligible for matching. Bonus Day begins at 9am eastern (6am west coast time).  The $50,000 in bonus funds will go fast!  THE VERY EARLY BIRD REAPS THE MATCHING FUNDS.  So don’t hesitate, let’s hear it for midwifery!

Alima is another of our successful midwifery trainees, currently completing her 3rd year of training.   She is one of 35 village girls whose post secondary training we have supported in the past three years.  100% of these girls have successfully completed their training or are currently in training.   Midwifery is a high priority training program because skilled midwives are crucial in ensuring the availability of high quality maternal and child health services, particularly in rural areas.   Each year we aim to enroll at least one student in midwifery.

Please help us complete our funding for a 2013 midwifery student.  Make your donation go 30% farther Wednesday, March 13!  Remember: Bonus Day begins at 9am eastern (6am west coast time).  Bonus day funds will go fast!   THE EARLY BIRD REAPS THE MATCHING FUNDS!

About Project Reports

Project Reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.

If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you will get an e-mail when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports via e-mail without donating or by subscribing to this project's RSS feed.

Microproject Disclaimer

Every microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Post secondary Education for Girls in Burkina Faso. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.

If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.

A microproject connected to this project:

Post secondary Education for Girls in Burkina Faso
This project will provide scholarships to primary school teacher training for 80 village girls who have completed secondary school at the top of their class in northern Burkina Faso. Because their parents are subsistence farmers, these scholarships are the only source of funds these girls will have to enable them to further their studies in primary school teacher training. project reportread updates from the field
