Starting on September 18th, 2023 you have the opportunity to help homeless dogs like Masamba get a second chance at life. By giving today, you provide the funds needed to pay our vet team, rescue team, education program, and all of the medicine and supplies we need to help give sick and injured dogs a second chance at life. A little goes a long way in Dharamsala, India. Give a street dog some hope for 2023.
$3000 helps 50 homeless street dogs go from hurt to healed. Not only does this amount cover the cost of the cost of medication, supplies, and food, but it also covers the cost of spaying and neutering each dog and giving them vaccinations and deworming. A little goes a long way in Dharamsala India and your support means the world to us and the street dogs. What this amount does not cover is any overhead or salaries. To help cover costs for an entire month, we need to raise an additional $4500.
We provide several key programs to achieve our goals: spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, rescue and adoption, and community education for rabies safety and compassion. DAR has been running since 2009. Since that time, we have helped more than 19,000 animals. Since the beginning we've seen change. There are more people feeding and caring for strays. More people getting post bite vaccinations for dog bites. More people adopting local dogs. This project will help this change continue
Our vision: We strive to create a community where the people realize that the stray animal population can be managed with compassion and education. With mass sterilization and rabies vaccination programs we can create a healthy sustainable population of dogs. Through education and community interaction, we can teach people how to be kind to street dogs even they are afraid of them, eradicate rabies, and increase adoptions.
