Without a doubt, when youth is given the chance to innovate, great results are achieved.
A clear example of this is the way your donation has helped young girls to access the MakersLab courses. Thanks to you two girls, Lulu and Karla were able to continue their courses on the MakersLab and further prepare themselves to become the next female innovators and tech leaders.
Both of them have found a special interest in programming in order to materialize new and exciting ideas. Their most recent success was being invited to attend a Hackathon, organized by Microsoft, just for young girls. In this event they were invited to solve gender related issues in an innovative way using technology, specially app development.
Even though Lulu and Karla were among the youngest participants in the room, they did not let themselves feel intimidated and decided to give all of their knowledge in order to come up with an interesting result. With their team, they developed an app specially designed for working women on the go. The app has the objective of providing women with tips for getting jobs, job offerings especially for them and information on how to deal with every day aspects of working on several environments.
After a hard day of work, their efforts were recognized since they were awarded “Best Project”. Lulu and Karla were thrilled to realize that their idea was good and actually functional for a real scenario in everyday life. Both girls are planning on further prepare themselves in programming and computer science in order to materialize their dreams and ideas while also changing their lives forever.
