Appreciation to Our Textbook Donors

By Debra aka Brique Zeiner | Chairwoman

Many Books are Bought - Many Books Still Needed
Many Books are Bought - Many Books Still Needed

On behalf of everyone at Live and Learn in Kenya International, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many generous donors who have already contributed toward the purchase of textbooks for our elementary and junior high school students at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center in Nakuru, Kenya. Your support is not only helping to provide essential educational tools—it is actively transforming lives.

Thanks to your kindness, a significant number of textbooks have already been purchased. These books have made an immediate and tangible impact in our classrooms. Children who once had to share textbooks with two or three classmates—or, in many cases, had no access to books at all—can now follow lessons with greater ease and independence. The joy on their faces as they open their own books and the pride they feel in being able to study without limits is something that words can scarcely express. You have brought light into their learning.

Textbooks are fundamental tools of education. They provide the structure and content needed to ensure that children are learning to read, write, calculate, and think critically. They also help our teachers provide a consistent, quality education across all grade levels. With each book placed in a child's hands, you are helping to build a stronger foundation for their future.

However, the work is not yet done. Many more books are still needed to ensure that every child has access to their own set of textbooks across all subjects. Our goal is to eliminate the need for children to share materials—because we believe that every child deserves the right to learn at their own pace and with the resources they need. Education is not a luxury. It is a human right.

We are deeply aware that these are challenging times for many. That makes your support all the more meaningful. Whether you donated the cost of a single book, or helped to equip an entire classroom, your contribution is part of a collective effort that is making a lasting difference. You are giving these children more than books—you are giving them confidence, motivation, and hope.

We would also like to recognize the power of shared compassion. Many of you have not only donated but have also shared our cause with friends, family, and on social media. Your words of encouragement and your willingness to spread awareness are as valuable as the financial support. This growing circle of kindness and concern is exactly what enables us to continue this important work.

The children at Live and Learn in Kenya may come from difficult backgrounds—many from extreme poverty and hardship—but they are full of potential, curiosity, and dreams. With the right tools and support, they will rise. Thanks to you, their backpacks are being filled with more than just books—they are filled with opportunities.

As we continue to raise funds and work toward our goal of providing a full set of textbooks to every child, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Your support is the key that unlocks their future. And every time a child opens a book to read, to learn, or to explore new ideas, know that you helped make that moment possible.

From all of us at Live and Learn in Kenya International—and especially from the bright and grateful children who benefit from your generosity—thank you. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for caring. And thank you for believing in the power of education to change lives.

With sincere appreciation,
The Live and Learn in Kenya International Team
