The long Kenyan school break began 4 weeks ago. It isn't always a happy time for the very poor children in Kenya. If they are lucky enough to have meals at school - their luck often ends with the school year... For the poverty-stricken parents, it is a daily struggle to put food on the table at all. There's still another 6 weeks until school begins again...
After a short break so that our staff could catch their breath after the long school year, the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center in Nakuru opened its gates wide open once again to our children and invited them in for games, sports, reading and a hot meal from the stoves of our new kitchen. During the school breaks our children receive warm meals every day from Monday through Friday.
Today's meal was financed by the generous donations made through GlobalGiving. The children were so happy to have that warm meal to keep smiles on their faces.
Asante sana, donors. Asante sana, GlobalGiving. Thank you so much!
