Dave G. and Omar care and share - and the children enjoyed a wonderful meal through their awesome and generous donations for a meal on Monday, October 31st There were miles of smiles when they sat down to a plate filled with vegetables, rice and a glass of milk. Thank you so much for your generous donations. It really made a difference. It's not only having a meal on their plates - it is also the knowledge that somebody cares - somebody who doesn't even know them. That will stick in their minds and guide them into a caring future!
I was at the Live and Learn in Kenya Education Center for this meal. We celebrated Halloween with the children and painted their faces. They sure loved that! ...bringing a bit of western culture to Kenya - although that's probably where face-painting comes from :) !
It is not always easy to feed all of the hungry children on the Live and Learn in Kenya International program. As we are a small organization doing big things, we fully depend on private donations in order to get our work done in the slums of Nakuru, Kenya. Sending so many children to school, keeping them fed and medically fit and off the streets is a daily challenge. But it is a challenge worth taking. Especially when you see the huge smiles on the faces of children who would more than likely have ended up begging in the streets - or worse. So we are more than thankful for every donation!
