Thank you so very much for supporting our micro-project of needs for the launch of a new Centre in El Alto, Bolivia. You helped provided the materials needed for the children such as chairs, tables, school supplies, kitchen equipment and more. We could not have done this without you and we are very grateful!
In May my husband Matt and myself, together with another HBF Director, Eunice, visited the new Centre. We were impressed with the facility, the sky light that brought in gorgeous light, and the furnishings that made it cheery and welcoming for the children.
The Centre still has some needs, such as computer desks, more kitchen tools, and infrastructure needs, but it is off to a good start, thanks to you. The parents chose the name of the new Centre - Juk'at Juk'ata - which is Aymara for 'little by little', or poco a poco as I like to say. Little by little we are improving the lives of children and their families in Bolivia!
Registration is at 67 children now, but it is expected to go up to 80 as we continue to sort out transportation needs. We have families there from our former centres in Tahuantinsuyo and Villa Ingenio as well as new families that live nearby. The community is welcoming of the support the Centre brings to the families who need the extra help.
Here are a few photos of the Juk'at Juk'ata Centre (JJC). Isn't it lovely? :)
Thank you so very much again for your support!
