This project will equip our new centre in Villa Ingenio with the tools and supplies needed to run a full time program for the children from our Tahuantinsuyo and Villa Ingenio projects. Conveniently located near the bakery training centre established in 2024, the new facility underscores our commitment to community development and sustainability. Help equip the new Centre with school & art supplies, kitchen and dining room items, indoor and outdoor toys, and more!
HBF is establishing a new Centre in Villa Ingenio that represents a significant step forward in consolidating support for children from both the Tahuantinsuyo and Villa Ingenio communities, offering resources five days a week in one convenient location. Previously the children from Villa Ingenio had only a one day a week program. By combining the programs, we are able to offer the much needed full-time support for ALL the children.
This microproject will fill the new facility with the tools and supplies needed to run the education support, nutrition, and psychological counselling programs for the children. On the shopping list are chairs, desks, tables, bowls, plates, cutlery, pots & pans, cooking utensils, art supplies, school supplies, first aid kits, books, board games, desktop computers, tablets, outdoor toys (soccer balls, hoops), puppets, puppet theatre, etc.
Regular food and education support for the children will contribute to improved school performance, cognitive and creative development and personal and social development. Hungry children can not thrive. A daily hot meal can make the difference in being successful. These meals will allow them to focus on improving their education and other aspects of development.
