Thank you so much for all your donations to NFTE Los Angeles’s curriculum projects.  Despite not reaching the critical mass of donations we were hoping for, our hands-on entrepreneurial activities made their way to the over 2,000 students in the NFTE Los Angeles classrooms.  Some of those supply kits were purchased from donations we received through GlobalGiving, as we can’t thank you enough for the donations. You are helping to give local youth the opportunity to practice and develop important skills like product innovation, opportunity recognition, product innovation, negotiation, market research, business writing, and presentation skills.

Some of our students who received the five NFTE hands-on activities (Product Innovation Activity, The Trading Game, the Chocolate Bar Market Research Activity, the Consumer Profile Magazine Activity, and the Economics of One Unit Activity) were recently given an opportunity to hear about how these skills affect the modern workplace during a field trip to the headquarters of Uber.  Our young entrepreneurs were able to ask questions of members of the Uber team and see their innovative headquarters.  Focused mainly on the Product Innovation (due to the changes Uber brings to every industry it enters), the trip was quite impactful for NFTE’s students.  Beyond the experiential activities and business classes, NFTE also provides mentorship opportunities and access to local entrepreneurs that young people can look to as they begin their own ventures.

As our students fly full speed ahead with their own business plans, we hope that the activities and trips they undertook as part of the NFTE curriculum guide their vision.  The initial lessons in the NFTE program were in part thanks to you donations.  Thanks again for your donations
