Thanks so much for providing hot meal for Pina during floods.
Pina is 56 years old. She lives with her husband and four children in the community of Banaba, just outside Manila, in the Philippines.
Pina’s house is partly made from bricks but it's poorly constructed, and dangerously close to a river. Every year there are floods, and Pina’s house is often inundated. During floods Pina and her family have to spend days sleeping on the floor of an evacuation centre. This is a traumatic experience already and it’s made worse as Pina’s family often have to go hungry as well.
But now, because of your generosity, we’ll be able to provide hot food for Pina, and her family, during evacuations.
Hot meals will be delivered when the next flood comes and forces Pina and her family to leave their home. Evacuation will never be easy for Pina, but your generosity means that at least Pina and her family won’t go hungry.
We’ve been there to help during past evacuations and here’s what Pina had to say about our previous support:
“Our community feel blessed because of the cooked food that was delivered to them, the parents were so happy.”
We’ll send you updates about how your gift is changing the lives of Pina, her family, and families like theirs right here on GlobalGiving. Should you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
One last time, thanks so much for ensuring that Pina and her family can enjoy hot meals during floods.
