Students connect to and appreciate the volunteers’ investment of time and attention in the classroom as a role model for their future. Tekeya, a student at Forest Meadow Junior High School, reflected on her experience. “When we played the game ‘Choose Your Success,’ I started to think about what college I would go to and how long it would take me to be a successful person.” She told us that she wanted to be an engineer when she got older. “You know, I think it is funny how one person can really make a difference in someone’s future,” she said as she turned to her classroom volunteer. “Thank you for your information and inspiration.” Tekeya’s experience is one of many transformations facilitated by the Junior Achievement program.
Thank you for your support of this project, and for considering Junior Achievement as an investment in our youth!
