High school students participating in JA Success Skills will learn about different careers and the skills they need to be successful in the workplace. Insights from a professional volunteer will inspire them to pursue higher education as an avenue to career success.
With so many business leaders considering workforce readiness an imperative, it is critical that we expand students' horizons by bridging the gap between the corporate sector and our community's schools. When students are immersed in the workforce readiness topics of the Junior Achievement curriculum, they are learning 21st Century skills through the lens of the real world, interacting with business professionals who provide a framework of relevance to the workplace.
Your support of 32 students participating in JA Success Skills will ensure that they have a classroom volunteer to teach them essential work readiness skills. They will learn about career options, prepare for an interview, develop their resume, and grow their knowledge of soft skills such as communication and critical thinking. When students develop these 21st Century skills, they will be more likely to succeed in the workplace.
