Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Globalteer has continued to support our beneficiaries across Latin America and Southeast Asia. In Peru, we have been caring for street dogs who had been left without daily meals due to restaurant closures. In Colombia, we have delivered food to families in need. In Cambodia, our teachers and coaches have been teaching at-home socially-distanced lessons to our students. Now more than ever, we need to continue to serve our partners and projects that rely on us.
Our project beneficiaries have all suffered the impacts of COVID-19. In Peru, street dogs are facing additional suffering, due to restaurant closures and abandonment by families who cannot feed them. Our students at Picaflor House and Helping Hands have had limited access to education, due to school closures. Their recreation time has also been severely limited by government regulations. Our Women's Empowerment participants have had severely reduced family income and limited market access.
This fundraising goal will allow us to continue supporting our projects, as they recover from these pandemic impacts. In Cambodia, we can continue providing at-home education and sports lessons until schools can re-open. In Peru, our Picaflor kids will need their daily healthy meals more than ever, as their family's resources have suffered. We can continue to help abandoned street dogs with veterinary access, safety networks, and food. We can provide more resources for our women's communities.
Globalteer's long-term vision is a world where human and animal suffering are minimised, and the future of our planet is safeguarded by effectively harnessing the goodwill of people who share our vision. Little by little, we are helping to make a difference, and every donation we receive ensures that we can keep supporting our wonderful projects and partners across Latin America and Southeast Asia.
