Summary

At Salariin Kampuchea, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. As part of our commitment to equipping underprivileged youth in Siem Reap with practical life skills, we hoping to expand, but also improve, our IT literacy program. One of the most immediate and critical needs we face is access to functioning computers. We are seeking to raise $750 to purchase five new second-hand computers that will allow more students to participate in hands-on digital training.

Challenge

Currently, our computer lab is equipped with only a few outdated machines. These computers are either unreliable and slow, or broken completely, making it difficult for students to learn effectively. At the same time, interest in our IT classes is growing at a rate that we cannot accomodate. Without access to regular computer use, many of our students are missing out on essential skills that are increasingly necessary for both academic advancement and future employment.

Solution

With your support, we will be able to purchase five new second-hand, reliable computers. These will be used to teach students basic digital skills including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and online safety. The computers will also allow teachers to deliver lessons more efficiently - creating a more engaging learning environment. For just $750, we can significantly expand our capacity to provide IT training and give dozens of students the opportunity to gain vital 21st-century skills.

Long-Term Impact

The long-term impact of this project extends well beyond the classroom. With a solid foundation in digital literacy, our students will be better prepared for higher education and employment opportunities in sectors such as tourism, administration, and services-areas that are key to Cambodia's growing economy. Additionally, access to computers fosters confidence, independence, and the ability to connect with the wider world. We invite you to be part of this effort.
