A nation gets developed by woman. Indian society has been male dominated society from the very beginning, and woman is considered after male. It is required to empower women to improve the status of women in society and family. Women empowerment is possible only through associating them to self-employmnet, but it is not an easy task for poor women. They have to depend on others for their dreams and it keeps them backward.
For women empowerment and to make them self-reliant, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of Global Giving Foundation, has started sewing skill development training for poor girls in Small village Bhagwanpura nadi. All girls aged more than 16 years and are also interested to do sewing. Therefore, they regularly learning sewing 5 hours everyday. In this 5-months sewing training program, girls will be trained to stitch various costumes as salwar suit, capri, payjama, lehnga, Jodhpuri costume, Rajputi costume, blouse, etc.
The master trainer takes their test from time to time. The activists of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan also organise life skill and EDP training for the capacity building of the trainees. To reduce stress, gaming activities are also held which results into more interest in girls to learn. The organisation will sponsor an exhibition for the trainees at the completion of the training. Our activist had conversation with one of the girls and came to know about her problems which is mentioned in her own words as :
My name is Preeti. I have interest in sewing but due to high fee at private institutions I couldn't afford it. Due to pathetic financial conditions of my family, I couldn't learn sewing, but as I came to know about the free training program I got so happy. I learnt to design various costumes in the training and now after two years of being married, I will continue sewing and make my dreams come true. I will start my own butique. I am completely assured that I will be a better fashion designer. I thank to Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and Global Giving Foundation which have made my dreams come true.
