Shraddha is from Purna near Nanded, Maharashtra. After losing her father young, her illiterate mother has struggled to raise four children alone, facing caste-based discrimination. Eleven years ago, she sent Shraddha to Sphoorti in hope of a better future. Shraddha has worked hard and scored 67% in her Class X exams. She now dreams of pursuing the MPC stream in Intermediate and eventually earning a BTech degree. With continued support, she's determined to break barriers and uplift her family.
This project aims to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion faced by Shraddha, a bright young girl from a marginalized caste in rural Maharashtra. By supporting her pursuit of higher education in the MPC stream and eventually a BTech degree, the project addresses systemic barriers to education, gender inequality, and caste-based discrimination. It empowers Shraddha to become financially independent, uplift her family, and serve as a role model for other girls in similar circumstances.
This project will solve the problem by providing Shraddha with the financial support and resources she needs to continue her education without interruption. By covering costs related to her Intermediate studies, the project removes the economic burden from her single mother, who is unable to afford higher education. This timely intervention ensures that Shraddha can stay on track toward her goal of earning a degree, equipping her with the knowledge, skills, and qualifications to help her grow.
The long-term impact of this project extends far beyond Shraddha's individual success. By enabling her to complete her education and pursue a career in engineering, it sets her on a path toward financial independence and social mobility. As the first in her family to achieve higher education, Shraddha can break generational cycles of poverty and discrimination. Her journey can inspire other girls from marginalized communities to pursue their dreams and create a ripple effect.
