This microproject will restore Sebastian's hearing again. As a small boy, Sebastian suffered an accident completely losing his hearing in one ear and partially in the other ear. A week ago, his old hearing aid finally broke down, and he now needs a new one. Without it, he has much difficulty attending his Gastronomy classes. With a new rechargeable hearing aid, he will be able to continue his studies. regain his self-confidence and fully participate in daily activities.
Sebastian's main problem is his hearing disability, which severely limits his communication and learning abilities. His family had to take out a bank loan three years ago to buy his present hearing aid and they are still paying off the loan. The hearing aid is no longer working, and the cost of a new one, $1400, is far beyond the family's meagre income. Without the hearing aid, Sebastian risks dropping out of his Gastronomy program and losing his motivation and the progress he made so far.
This microproject will help fund the purchase of a new rechargeable hearing aid for Sebastian. The Helping Hands Foundation, through its regular medical fund, can pay $1000 for the hearing aid. We hope this microproject can raise $400 more to pay the remaining $400 for the hearing aid. These funds will allow Sebastian to get the hearing aid he urgently needs to hear again, follow his classes, and fully participate in his training.
The long-term impact of this project goes far beyond restoring Sebastian's hearing. With the ability to hear, he will be able to complete his professional training in Gastronomy and secure a stable job, helping his family escape the cycle of poverty. Regaining his hearing will also boost his self-esteem and allow him to communicate, socialize, and live with greater independence. Sebastian will not only transform his own life but also contribute positively to his family and community.
