Tammy arrived home from India last week with Kala & Lila because you opened your heart and donated to help her. She is sad to leave India but happier not to be living in fear. Here is part of an email Tammy sent to us:
"India has a special place in my heart. As a photographer I loved capturing the colors, faces, the beauty and the chaos of India. I don't want to relate India to the abuse from my x-boyfriend. I have seen the horrors of acid throwing on the faces of stalking victims. I knew he would do that to me. Without your help I would not have been able to get out with Kala and Lila. You have literally saved my life. One day, when I have the means, I will pay this forward and help someone. I want to go back to India some day and work to prevent violence against women."
