Many youths and young adults in Sierra Leone are computer-illiterate and have not received any instruction in or access to computers. By providing this training, they will receive the vital skills needed for success in today's technology-driven society. They will also be able to apply for and obtain jobs that require basic computer proficiency.
This project will solve the problem of computer illiteracy for several youths who will be able to attend a basic computer training session for 1 week. These disadvantaged youths have unfortunately not received any computer training and this is a barrier to employment mobility. The project will lift this barrier by providing this essential and high-in-demand training.
The funds from this project will cover instruction costs - enabling them to acquire the vital, needed computer skills. The basic computer proficiency training provided will equip the youths for success. They will be provided with a comprehensive training / reference manual that they can use in the future.
This training is transforming the lives of participants as it broadens their options and offers new opportunities. Youths & young adults become computer literate and proficient - and consequently viable and competitive in the market place.
