The Gennie Dean Caring & Sharing Cancer Support Group successfully hosted its RestoreHER Women's Retreat, providing women affected by cancer with four days of rest, reflection, healing, and meaningful connection.
Cancer affects far more than the physical body. Patients and survivors often carry emotional burdens, fears, and personal challenges long after diagnosis and treatment. RestoreHER was created to provide a safe and supportive environment where women could focus on their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Throughout the retreat, participants engaged in guided self-reflection, affirmations, empowering discussions, gentle movement, nutritious meals, and fellowship. Sessions facilitated by Coaches Duquesa Dean, La'Verne Gardiner, and Ghandi Knowles encouraged women to acknowledge their experiences, embrace their present circumstances, build confidence, and rediscover the beauty that remains in their lives.
Participants expressed gratitude for the experience, the opportunity to connect with other women, and the encouragement they received.
The retreat reinforced the importance of holistic cancer support and the need for continued investment in emotional wellness and survivorship programs.
Through initiatives like RestoreHER, we remain committed to helping women affected by cancer find strength, hope, and community throughout their journeys.
We are grateful to everyone whose generosity helps make programs like RestoreHER possible.
