This program will support 300 vulnerable young people that live in extreme poverty and don't have the resources to access to a descent alimentation during this time of crisis. We will bring psychological support with subjects like resilience and how to manage stress during this time of quarantine, this are giving virtually and by telephone. Also we give them a small grant so they can buy food and hygiene prevention items, and don't have to work and expose to the contagion of COVID-19.
With the quarantine imposed by the Mexican Government, the closed of schools in every educational level, the high levels of educational dropout and the loss of jobs that the families are suffering as consequence of COVID-19, this are causing emotional problems to the young people that live in vulnerable communities. If they don't receive help in this time of crisis, they can have emotional health consequences in the future, that can result in desertion of education to enroll in a job.
Through our model of intervention, we support remotely to young people of 5 vulnerable communities with psychological attention by telephone an internet with subjects like manage of stress in the insolation and emotional resilience. They also receive a small grant weekly so they can solve some of their basic needs like, buying food or hygiene products to prevent the transmission of coronavirus like gloves or antibacterial gel.
The goal of this actions is that in the long run the young people of the program don't have psychological consequences as consequence of COVID-19, avoid that this young people go outside of their homes to prevent the propagation of the virus, that they continue with their education and have a healthy self-esteem. This also bring as a consequence more secure communities, with least people in the streets.
