Leonel lives with his mother, who is struggling to raise 8 children. There is not enough money to send them to school. Rural areas in Cameroon do not have adequate schools, infrastructure and teachers to educate its underprivileged children who come from poor families or are orphaned. This project will help ensure that Leonel is able to attend school.
Children in rural Cameroon face a lot of difficulties to obtain basic education. The latest statistics shows that age 15 and over for the total population in Cameroon has a 71.3% literacy rate. Low levels of literacy, and education in general, can impede the economic development of a country in the current rapidly changing, technology-driven world. This project will provide a scholarship for Leonel covering his tuition, books, school supplies, uniforms and related school expenses.
CAPEC Education Project is providing low cost education for children in the Nkolfoulou and other neighboring villages in Cameroon through its initiative, The Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School. Funds from this project will help Leonel continue attending school at Bitame Lucia. Your support will help provide what he needs to be successful in school. Leonel would like to play football professionally when he grows up.
More than 1,000 orphan and underprivileged children will get a decent education - transforming their lives and providing opportunities for growth, and contribution to national development. The school will benefit the entire community for life.
