Dear friend,
I met José for the first time some months ago, but he didn’t want to talk to me, he only required me toys and candies in a bad way, and liked to try to push me aside.
I realized that this little kid has to overcome not only scars on his face and hands but scars in his soul and heart because were the worst.
As you probably have read in the description of the project, more than a half of Jose’s body suffered severe burns. How a little one could deal with such a painful and difficult situation? I think that will never cease to amaze me how brave are the children.
His physical sequels are huge but the internal ones are the most difficulties to heal.Jose is still learning to love himself and love other people despite mom left him days after his accident.
Today we are beyond excited because he is becoming a happy child again while regains confidence in people little by little. Jose is really smart, he plays with robots while sings any song, teaches his mates to behave better and is always looking out to help us when we need to put order.Nowadays he seems to be happier when comes to therapies with dad. Nobody says it would be easy, but now while I take this picture of both of them I think that every little thing we did worth it.
Thanks to ANIQUEM and to all of our donors, our kids are are able to receive their necessary treatments such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, their compressive garments and their psychological treatment here in ANIQUEM. Furthermore, we organize activities for the whole family so that they can be reintegrated into the society.
Jose is doing his best to get well. Now is more obedient, loves play around of us and talking so much with everybody.
I met Joseph months ago, but yesterday saw him and his face was more brilliant and seemed happier than then. Those days, Jose required treats and always tried to hit me, but now he only wants to give hugs and I’m pretty sure he would share his toys with you!
Thank you so much again for helping Jose to get a better life!!
Besides Jose, there are other kids that urgently need our help. You can help us to change their lives and give them the integral rehabilitation they deserve - click on the link below to read their story. Thank you so much and have great day!
The whole team of ANIQUEM.
