Well after a long campaign the generous GlobalGiving donors made it all happen!
After a long period we now have the computers to restart computer training free of cost to students below the poverty line at The Averill Centre here in Bodhgaya, India
If I can remind you the course we offer is not home made. It is an approved government course that carries with it full recognition of the qualifying certificate everywhere in India.
I will let one of our students, Pramilla (name changed in order to meet GlobalGiving privacy Standards) explain just what this means to her.
"For a long time we came to the Averill Centre to look at the big "thermometer" on the office wall to see how much had been raised towards our new computers. If the thermometer had gone up we cheered, we were sad when it had not. Well we are all feverishly excited now as the course we have been waiting for a long time is now about to start"
I come from a very poor background but due to the support from People First I completed my education, but without computer skills nobody will give us Job. This course will open the door to the world of employment for me, and change my life and my family's life so much for the better".
