Some parts of India get affected by cold winters every year especially rural areas. Children at orphanages are also affected & suffer from cold and high fever due to lack of warm clothes and blankets. This project aims at providing 2000 orphans across Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra & Goa with sweaters so they can be warm & comfortable during the winter months. Help Children Feel Better with a Sweater!
There are an estimated 10,000 orphanages (child care institutions) in India, with approximately 500,000 children. With not much parental/guardian support, the orphanage represents a refuge, an oasis where they are sheltered and secure . However, sadly, basic necessities such as food, clothing & living conditions are largely neglected. Lack of funding is often an impediment in providing children with the basics. This project will impact 2000 children & provide them sweaters to keep warm.
CSA believes that a happy, safe & healthy childhood is the right of every child. By providing children with sweaters, we will address a basic important need of orphan children being able to stay warm during winters & thereby, reduce frequency of illnesses due to lack of warm clothes. This also makes them feel loved & cared for.
Through provision of quality child care to children at orphanages where basic needs are met, children are protected, secure, confident & feel loved. Incidences of ailments related to winters will come down leading to healthier & happier children growing up at orphanages.
