CIWY urgently needs your help to move the remaining capuchin monkeys from Parque Machia to Jacj Cuisi Wildlife Sanctuary. The first two groups have successfully transferred and are thriving in the "Enchanted Highlands" and "ParaTi" areas. Now, we need your support to create a new home for the "Mirador" and "Earth" capuchins still at Machia. Your donation can make a real difference in providing these monkeys with a safe, natural environment in The Land of the Dreams!
Machia Sanctuary was the first Wildlife Sanctuary and Rescue Centre that CIWY opened in Bolivia. Unfortunately, due to several factors, including the construction of a highway through the middle of the sanctuary, which has directly affected the wellbeing of the animals and our team, CIWY is closing Machia and relocating its rehabilitated animals to our other sanctuaries, Jacj Cuisi and Ambue Ari.
Our goal is to move the Capuchin Monkeys to Jacj Cuisi Wildlife Sanctuary, in the lush jungle of San Buenaventura. The new capuchin areas at Jacj Cuisi will allow these monkeys to enjoy the beautiful jungle that surrounds them, in enclosures that minimize human contact and encourage natural behaviors. Help us create an Area for the 21 monkeys of "Mirador" and "Earth/Tierra"!
The rehabilitated animals will have more space in more pristine jungle at JC. They will not be exposed to tourists, noise or road pollution. We aim to provide the best quality of life possible for all of CIWY's rescued animals.
