We are very grateful to the people who have supported this microproject.
We haven't as yet raised the funds needed to build the wall but our efforts are ongoing to raise the total amount needed. Your very generous donations will be ring-fenced for completing the building of the perimeter wall around our campus at Namungongo. As soon as the building work of the wall is completed we will post an update on the website and or Facebook page.
Two representatives of the Dutch Board of Governors have just returned home from a visit to the project. They are very pleased to report that both schools, the Samaritan Day Care and Kindergarten and the clinic on the campus are all doing well. Unfortunately, with the threat of the Covid-19 virus, all the schools were ordered to close as from Friday 20th March for 32 days. This order was issued by the President on Wednesday evening, 18th March. Due to the fact that most schools in Uganda are boarding schools this proved an enormous challenge as the capital, Kampala, very soon became gridlocked for 3 days! Thankfully, at the time of writing this report, none of the pupils or staff have been reported with the virus and all the visitors from the Netherlands returned home safely, albeit on different flights than were planned.
Thank you to all our supporters and followers on GlobalGiving. We are very grateful of your support.
