Compassionate Hands has been focusing on increased opportunities for the 106 children with disabilities in their care to learn daily living skills, vocational skills and independence. Your support will allow CHDF to continue to provide the occupational and physical therapists to do this important work! A generous challenge grant from a US-based donor means every $1 = $2, you will double your impact by giving now!
As a result of a visit to the United States in September 2024, Anne and the team at Compassionate Hands have implemented some key updates to their program including restructuring the school to meet the specific developmental needs of the students. This has included new classes, new skills training and the hiring of new occupational and physical therapists to facilitate these activities.
This project results in children who are empowered to learn new skills and increase independence in their daily living. The school is more vibrant and active as students are able to contribute to serving CHDF in practical ways. Help us continue this important work!
The long-term goal for all our children is to have them living healthy, fulfilling lives as adults despite their disabilities. Through our rehabilitation process, we've successfully had some of our children join the public education system and several who are in high school. If they can eventually complete their studies, reintegrate into society and ascend to positions of power, we envision them championing for the rights of the disabled and fighting the stigma associated with disability.
