In an effort to enable the Center for Youth Driven Development Initiatives (CFYDDI) community library provide wide knowledge regarding health to its library users to take charge of their own health, we have designed and made our library users have access to Consumer Health Information (CHI) designed to help individual understand their health and make health related decisions for themselves and their families. For instance a doctor will diagnosis a patient and treat him/her but Consumer Health Information will avail you with information so you make a decision.
Consumer health Information (CHI) is about WELLBEING-offering disease prevention information and warnings about products and services that pose risks to the public, information on dietary supplements and cosmetics such information helps one make a decision regarding their health!
Consumer Health Information- is also about patient empowerment and involvement (safety/quality, Trust, health outcomes)
CFYDDI Community library with your support has put in place a database that will be accessed both off and online in an effort to provide learners, patient empowerment and involvement; as a result, the patients /users will be able to make health decisions. The initiated Consumer Health Information will help preventive measures. This project is translating into youth composing health information songs and it has attracted 13 young people to start composing songs! Watch the space for the songs and the wider project innovations.
