The project was launched with a research, planning and developement sessions where the Wisdom&Wellness team (TEWWY's leadership and Wisdom&Wellness Counselors) collectively agreed on the acivities for the project and how the artwork (traditional beaded jewelry) fit into the organization's objectives. Using internal financing and the $40 raised in this microproject, the team was able to initiate some activities from the obverall project goals.
The team researched local artisans and businesses supplying beading materials. Decisions were made about the type of jewelry that will be handcrafted. We arranged a starter training session where the Wisdom&Wellness Couselors were equipped with fundamental beading skills.
As we are still fundraising for the project, the goal is to implement weekly psychosocial interventions integrating artworks at the TEWWY offices. The Wisdom&Wellness Counselors can employ the beading skills they've learned for their own economic growth.
