By Lucy Hone | Capital Appeal Manager
The first project to raise money for the new Haven in Wessex told you that the men had successfully climbed the Matterhorn and were safely back on firm ground.
From a Haven perspective this was a great relief and their amazing fundraising efforts have resulted in £171,000 towards to costs of buying and renovating our new centre.
The latest update is that the building is under offer, we are awaiting a "Change of use" planning application and also some listed planning consent for minor alterations. We will know in January how this is progressing but in the meantime the press for more fundraising continues.
Thank you everyone who supported the Matterhorn Climbers - their extra special brand of philanthropic verve has helped set us on our course and achieve the first stage of this £2.5 million capital appeal. The race is not over, we now have to refurbish and put in place two years funding before we can open.
With many thanks for your help
