Celebrating Achievement!

As we celebrate the Holiday Season, we also have cause to celebrate achievements made by our 29 girls and 3 boys in the year 2016.  This year, 6 girls and 1 boy sat for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in October.  The results showed that all of them did well with the top girls scoring 387, 375 and 300 respectively out of 500 marks.  Mary, scored the highest marks of 387, and became a receipient of the prestigeous Equity Bank Wings to Fly scholarship program, which means that the bank will sponsor her high school education as long as she maintains qualifying marks.

The secondary schools also held examinations towards the end of the year and though 2 of our sponsored girls completed the exams, the results will not be out until early next year, so we will know whether or not they will qualify for university placement at that time.

Our youngest sponsored child named Nantayio, was selected to present a bouquet of flowers to the Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya during the International Anti-Corruption Day in December.

Starting from January 4th 2017, Nenkashe Education Centre will open doors for our 1st batch of 10 pupils from Inkiwanjani community for Early Childhood Education (ECD).  We are fortunate to have a former sponsored girl work with us as an intern from Hekima Education Centre.  She is qualified to teach the young children and to help them grow holistically.   The required government authorization certificates for both the ECD project and the vocational school project have already been obtained.

Thank you for making the dreams of our girls and boys a possibility.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
