Summary

This project provides daily nutritious meals to 50 neglected elderly individuals residing in a slum in Guntur, AP, India. These lonely seniors have been suffering from hunger and poor health. Due to poverty, some families are unable to adequately care for their older members, and some of them resort to begging at neighboring houses or nearby locations to sustain themselves. Just $500 will cover the cost of daily meal supplies for all 50 elderly individuals for an entire month. Please support

Challenge

Across our project areas, at least 2,000 neglected elderly individuals are suffering from starvation and ill health. Tragically, some of these seniors live alone in simple huts, without any care or support. For them, self-cooking is a physically challenging, often impossible task. This lack of adequate nutrition is leading to a significant decline in their quality of life and worsening their already fragile health conditions.

Solution

This micro-project provides daily nutritious meals to 50 identified destitute elderly individuals in the slum for a period of six months. As a result, these seniors are able to eat a timely meal each day, freeing them from the need to beg or depend on others who neglect their well-being. The selected elderly are experiencing improvements in their overall health, both physically and psychologically. They are becoming more confident and capable of attending to their personal care.

Long-Term Impact

50 neglected aged people from the two location in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh will access daily meals from community kitchen. Protected, respected, responsible and share love and care each other collectively experience joy and happiness with improved health. Increase the life span of aged people who are currently suffered at risk of starvation will have better healthy habits. The established aged care homes will serve continuously to all the needy aged people in the slums permanently.
