This Christmas please help us raise money to support children with disabilities in Kenya and Zambia. Children with disabilities in Kenya and Zambia are often hidden from society and stigmatised, with no access to services and limited social interaction. Our projects offer these children access to education and essential health care services and provide assistive devices, that give them the chance to thrive, gain independence and reach their full potential.
Children with disabilities in Kenya and Zambia face widespread poverty, discrimination, and limited access to education, healthcare, and future employment. Many experience stigma rooted in negative cultural beliefs, as well as inadequate infrastructure and transportation, leading to social and economic exclusion. HATW is committed to supporting these vulnerable children to overcome these challenges.
HATW's projects provide vital support to children with disabilities - transforming their lives! Providing access to education, healthcare services, and assistive devices, children can thrive and reach their full potential. Children like Chisomo, pictured above, who was born with one leg, is now walking. Thanks to our support, he travelled to a hospital in Lusaka to be fitted with a prosthetic leg. Today, he can run, play, and attend school - opening a world of opportunity for his future.
In Kenya and Zambia, providing support to children with disabilities can have a profound, long-term positive impact on their lives, their families, and the wider community. Support that specially meets the needs of these children can lead to improved health, education, social inclusion, and future economic opportunities. With the right support, children can thrive, gain independence, and look forward to a brighter, more inclusive future.
