Aracelly was chosen to be the Tooth Fairy for Kindergardners at an International School:
We are extremely proud of Aracelly and how she shares her education and talents with such enthusiasm.
Aracelly's own words about gaining confidence & independence:
Community Service with children so much fun because I was the Tooth Fairy:
Yesterday I participated in a community service project at the International School of Bolivia. I was chosen to be the tooth fairy. With my fellow students I taught nutrition classes to two classes of kindergartners (50 in total). Each child also received a toothbrush to keep at school. We followed up by giving each child a visual dental exam with a report for the parents. I really enjoyed this event because I love to work with children.
Opportunity to help promote a Fundraiser & Looking forward to speaking English with Volunteers & planning life in Dentistry:
I am now living on my own and really enjoy being independent. Smiles Forever is currently involved in a fundraising campaign put on by a local Bolivian magazine, VIP. The special event is a dinner for 800 people. I am helping to sell the tickets with our director, Sandy Kemper.
I feel I am learning alot and gaining self confidence explaining the project and the program. I want to learn English, so I can speak to the volunteers that come to work with us. I am really enjoying Dentistry and want to continue learning. I hope to attend Dental School here in Cochabamba in the future. I am so grateful for my education, and I wish to thank you all so much for giving me special help on this Global Giving project.
Note from Sandy about Aracelly & my daughter Gisel:
My daughter Gisel & Aracelly have a special relationship. My Bolivian husband Freddy and I adopted Gisel over two years ago, and she joins Andre now 7. We adopted Andre as an infant, and he has had several surgeries for cleft palate. Gisel will benefit from having surgery to compensate for some incomplete bone structure & this will especially help her hearing.
My work here in Bolivia has completely changed my life and given me a wonderful family.
