Each year, Girl Up hosts a 2-day Girls Leadership Summit in the nation's capital. The Summit features high-level speakers and workshops that allow girls across the country to learn how to raise funds and awareness, effectively run their clubs, develop press coverage, and actively engage their communities. Your gift of $9,500 covers the costs of travel to and accommodations in Washington, D.C. for an entire Girl Up club, enabling 10 girls from an underserved community in America to attend!
Many girls across the country don't have access to leadership training opportunities that allow girls to achieve their full potential. There are very few leadership-development programs that provide training and resources that girls can use directly in their own communities. Lack of access to these resources early on can have significantly discouraging effects on girls seeking to become changemakers.
Our Girls Leadership Summit fills this gap. The summit includes opportunities to hear from seasoned women leaders, to participate in hands-on workshops in communications and press relations, government advocacy, event planning, and fundraising, and provides girls with the chance to interact directly with mentors. Your gift of $9,500 will enable 10 girls from an underserved community in America to benefit from Girl Up's unique leadership training program.
