The Silicon Valley is the epicenter of technological innovation and not being able to use the latest technology puts children at a disadvantage. These children who do not have the resources to afford the electronic toys their peers have face a double edged sword. They don't fit in with their peers and are unable to strengthen core skills needed for the 21st century job market.
Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to give 30 children electronic toys. As a part of our larger project, Fulfill Holiday Wishes for 662 Bay Area Children, we distributed these gifts in the weeks leading up to the holidays from our Holiday Wish Drive Warehouse and were able to help 68,400 children in need. Children like Patrick, age 11, who loves to dismantle computers and figure out how things work will now be able to further develop his technological skills.
According to Shayna at Peninsula Family Services, your donations “help them be just like everyone else.” On behalf of Patrick and other children like him, thank you!
