As a young Yemeni refugee in Malaysia, I have been given the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Accounting at MMU. This project will help me overcome financial barriers and continue my education. By investing in my studies, donors are not only supporting my dream of becoming an accounting professional but also empowering me to give back to refugee communities and build a better future for my family and others in need.
As a Yemeni refugee living in Malaysia, pursuing higher education has not been an easy journey. Refugees often face financial challenges and limited access to opportunities that many others take for granted. Although I have been accepted into the Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme at Multimedia University (MMU), I still face a funding gap of MYR 48,600 over the next three years of my studies.
This microproject will provide financial support toward my university education at MMU, helping cover tuition and essential academic expenses. By reducing the financial burden, I will be able to pursue my degree without interruption, focus on my studies, and gain the knowledge and skills needed to build a sustainable career in accounting and create positive change within my community.
I chose accounting because I genuinely enjoy working with numbers and analysing information. I hope to build a career in the financial field, and use my knowledge to contribute positively to refugee communities by sharing opportunities, guidance, and support with others who face similar challenges. This project will help me complete my Accounting degree, leading to long-term financial independence.
