Hunger is a problem that most often affects low-income families because living in poverty means that people are often going without basic needs such as food, clothing, and adequate shelter. For a child to have a chance at a bright future, they need to eat healthy meals every day.
El Shaddai aims to make a considerable change in the lives of poor children who go to bed hungry at night. We are focused on feeding hundreds of hungry children who reside in slums and other Poverty-stricken places. Along with feeding we also ensure that children know their rights, values, and how to achieve their dreams.
Our Feeding initiatives are crucial in addressing the issue of child hunger in slums and providing essential support to vulnerable children and families.
We aim to have “Zero Hunger” and for this purpose, we have our Mid-day meal programme in Homes, schools, shelters and community centres.
This Feeding initiative has been a big boon to thousands of children who no longer have to go to sleep hungry.
There is a heart-touching story of a little boy named Sachin (name changed). He used to beg for alms near the railway stations and temples. He lost his mother due to cancer and his father turned into an alcoholic. With no source of income, this boy roamed the streets the entire day. He went for days without proper food.
One day he was found by our team members who took him for a health check as he looked severely malnourished. He was then enrolled in our Daycare shelter where he was given warm nutritious and nourishing food. The child is now unrecognizable. There is colour in his cheeks and sparkle in his eyes. He says he wants to become a part of this NGO and help other children the same way he was helped. There are many children just like him who are waiting to be shown the right direction.
We have been able to help such children only due to your generous support of our mission.
Your kindness and compassion have made a significant difference in the lives of the slum children and others coming from underprivileged backgrounds. Thanks to your kind donation, these children now have access to nutritious food, education, and the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for making a difference in the world and for your dedication to helping those in need.
Sincerely
