In a world where technology increasingly determines access to education, employment, entrepreneurship and communication, digital skills are no longer a luxury. They are an essential foundation for young people seeking to build independent and productive futures.
Through our Youth Computer Skilling Program, F SSIBU Mission Foundation - Uganda is creating opportunities for underserved young people to gain practical knowledge and confidence in using computers and digital technologies. Many talented youth in rural and underserved communities have limited access to computers, reliable training and professional guidance. This digital gap can make it harder for them to compete for jobs, pursue further education or develop modern businesses.
Our program introduces young people to practical computer skills, including typing, document preparation, internet research, communication tools, basic digital productivity and other essential applications. Beyond technical training, participants are encouraged to develop problem-solving, creativity, communication and responsible digital citizenship.
The goal is not simply to teach a young person how to operate a computer. It is to open a door to possibilities that may previously have seemed unreachable.
With support from donors and partners, we can expand access to computers, learning materials, trainers and structured training sessions, allowing more young people to participate. Shared computer access also enables one device to benefit several learners through organized training groups.
Every young person who gains digital confidence becomes better prepared to pursue opportunities in education, employment and entrepreneurship.
