F SSIBU Mission Foundation – Uganda is taking an important step toward preparing children in underserved communities for a changing world through the launch of a computer training program at Mwanyagiri Community Primary School.
The program will begin with pupils at the school, with a particular focus on Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates and other upper-primary pupils who are preparing to transition into secondary education and, eventually, the world of work.
For many children in rural and underserved communities, access to computers remains limited. While technology is increasingly becoming part of education, employment and everyday life, children from low-income families can easily be left behind because they lack opportunities to learn and practice digital skills.
Through this initiative, pupils will be introduced to practical computer skills in a safe and supportive learning environment. Training will include basic computer operation, keyboard and mouse skills, typing, introductory digital literacy, educational technology and responsible use of technology.
The program is designed not simply to teach children how to use a computer, but to build confidence, curiosity and readiness for future opportunities.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to discover what technology can make possible. A pupil who learns to type today could become a teacher, engineer, entrepreneur, health professional, programmer or community leader tomorrow.
