Summary

Let's Learn Foundation has provided nearly 20 autistic children in India with tablets to overcome their lack of specialized education. Youth Venture has partnered with Let's Learn Foundation to improve the lives of countless children and families around the world by offering valuable learning opportunities in the form of touch-screen devices. Through these devices, disabled children can overcome their setbacks and inspire countless generations to do the same.

Challenge

In India and other third world countries, many autistic children lack the attention and care they need to overcome their disabilities and become truly influential members of society. By providing these underprivileged children with touch-screen devices, we are able to offer valuable learning opportunities that allow them to have a positive impact on their community, as well as the world. These children then mentor, motivate, and advise others who have experienced similar setbacks.

Solution

Through countless hours of research, I discovered that autistic children learn much better when face-to-face with a touch-screen device that is preloaded with educational applications. Building off this research, I arduously raised nearly $3,500 in the first year of operation and sent back 17 tablets to an underfunded school in India. Microproject will allow me to raise the additional funds necessary to empower 15 more underprivileged autistic children to overcome their disabilities and inspire

Long-Term Impact

Research has explicitly shown that autistic children show significant signs of fine motor skill development when they use a tablet, skills that are almost impossible for them to attain anywhere else. Not only that, but these tablets also encourage collaboration and learning outside of the classroom, allowing the children to overcome their disabilities quicker. As a result, we are investing in our future by creating motivators who guide others to overcome life's most challenging obstacles.
