Peru has one of the worst education systems in the world. This problem is underscored by the results in the 2015 PISA test, a global education survey in which Peru ranked 65th place out of 73 in mathematics, 67th place out of 73 in science and 66th place out of 73 in reading comprehension of the participating countries. Shockingly, only 14.3% of children in 8th grade understand what they are reading, and only 11.5% of children in the same grade have a satisfactory results in mathematics.

Peru Champs scholarships provide the opportunity for low-income children to become leaders of the future through their high quality elementary and high school education. We work in sixteen cities across the country, a scope that will allow us to generate real change in Peru. Also we want to empower the lives of many girls that participate in the program by providing them tools to develop a better future for them.
