Dear Supporters,
Thank you so much for your contribution to our Healthy Breakfast Club (HBC). Even though we didn't manage to raise the target amount for launching the HBC, we are still putting your donations to good use.
The HBC will be a safe, sociable space where children can enjoy a good breakfast, have some fun and learn various life skills. We have 2 goals that we are working towards
We are hoping to secure enough funding so that we are able to provide 80 children a daily breakfast for 6 months, but while we are waiting for additional funding to come through, we are working on our community garden at our new community centre.
The community centre will be a space where the children will be going regularly. Here they will be taught about the importance of healthy eating and will be shown how to grow their own food. We have started building the garden with wooden pallets. We want to show the children different ways that they can be resourceful and use different materials in different, creative ways. Our aim is to teach them that gardening and growing their own healthy food is fun and doesn't have to be expensive at all!
