Thanks to your generous donations, we've had another donor step in and cover the remaining costs of repairing the windows blown out from the November 10th suicide bomber in our signature school.
The materials needed for the repairs, including adding a layer of blast film to the windows for future protection, have been ordered and construction is scheduled to begin in early March.
The suicide bombing incident highlights the conditions girls in our schools face daily. Once the broken glass was cleaned up, the girls returned to school and began classes - even without windows. While that is extreme for many Americans to contemplate, this is a regular part of life for most girls who go to school.
Thank you for helping Sahar return the school to its high standards and giving the students a place to attend school that continues to be a warm, inviting and safe. The 3,000 girls and the citizens are grateful for the help in returning their beacon of hope school back to its orginal glory.
