Distribution of Branded Eid Clothes to Kids

Muwakhat team distributed Eid clothes to homeless children to make their Eid (Muslim festival) better.. The children were taken to a branded shop to choose clothes of their own liking. This was a very emotional event for the Muwakhat team.
This was the 3rd event by Muwakhat team done in a branded shop.
Highlights of the event “Distribution of Eid Clothes to Homeless Children”:
- Muwakhat team provided pick and drop service to the homeless children
- They were all sanitized before getting together and entering the branded shop
- All the social distancing rules were followed
- These homeless children were given an opportunity to pick & choose clothes all by themselves (accompanied by volunteers in case of any help needed)
- They were brought out of isolation and the spark of their smiles were very heart warming
- They were empowered in choosing the dresses according to their own choices
- After the distribution of clothes, the children were organized together for a group photo
- They also showed their new clothes to their parents and the joy was very touching
What was learned?
- The children behaved very well when they were brought out from isolation
- They are just normal human beings like any other child
- It is proven that “Equality is Quality!”
- The biggest achievement was priceless happiness of the children and their parents
- Their confidence was boosted!
- They were made aware about the COVID-19 safety measures
- They explored their choices and had a great exposure experience
Way forward?
- Muwakhat foundation is aiming to help COVID-19 affected families sustain themselves after a whole year of dependency
- Muwakhat foundation will help these families start up small businesses such a fruit or vegetable cart
