Creating a Dedicated Library Space for Teenagers

The goal of this microproject was to raise $3,500.00 for the development of a dedicated teenage section in the Library. This new space is intended to provide teens with access to age appropriate books, comfortable furniture, and a welcoming environment that encourages learning, creativity, and community engagement.

While we did not meet our full goal, we are grateful for your generous support. Together, we raised $600.00, which enabled us to make meaningful progress. The funds raised have been carefully used to begin the development of the teen section.

Specifically:
Books: A collection of age-appropriate books has been purchased to enrich the teen reading collection.
Furniture: Initial seating and shelving units were purchased to establish a foundation for the space.

The Library allocated in-kind donations to ensure the project could move forward despite the shortfall in fundraising.

In order to complete the project, we plan to:
Continue building the space step by step, adding resources and furnishings as funds become available as well as addressing essential structural needs, such as plumbing and ventilation, to ensure the space is safe, functional, and welcoming for teens.

Renew our fundraising efforts through community events, partnerships with local businesses, outreach to potential new donors, and grant applications.

Involve local teens and their families in shaping the space, ensuring it reflects their needs and interests.
